There was a terrific attendance December 5th for the Coffee with an Officer at Fort Payne Hardee’s®. There were approximately 37 officers to attend and be served breakfast. Several officers have been on the force for over 20 years. Other officers in attendance have been in service less than a year. In addition, Sherriff Jimmy Harris attended. He has been in place in Dekalb county since 1989. He has 128 employees with his department. Both the city and the county were very appreciative of this event held in their honor. One statement made by an officer was that this was the first time anything similar to this has been done for the officers.
Many guests stopped by just to shake hands with the officers and have breakfast. Hardee’s representatives from the area were there to honor the officers. Guests and officers registered for several giveaways that day. The restaurant was decorated in appreciation for the service these men and women provide the community. Overall, the community and Hardee’s showed true appreciation and respect for the officers and their daily service.
